Amazon.com Product Description
Best described as a cross between a skateboard and a snowboard, the Ripstik caster board is distinguished by its pivoting deck and 360-degree inclined caster trucks, which offers a snowboard-like carving ability. The RipStik "G" features a spinning aircraft-grade aluminum "G" tube in the center for extreme grinding action. Like the original Ripstik, the "G" moves you forward with a simple weight transfer that lets you turn or accelerate without pushing--just like when you're carving down the slopes.

The aircraft-grade aluminum tube in the center is ready for extreme grinding.
The board offers such features as spiked traction pads, a kick tail and nose, and a concave deck design, which combine to improve your foot control--a must for tricks. And thanks to the 76mm polyurethane wheels and precision ABEC-5 bearing casters, skaters will enjoy a smooth ride on almost any type of pavement. Designed for children 8 years and up, the Ripstik's plastic end platforms and metal torsion beam support up to 220 pounds.

Key Features:

  • Inclined caster trucks
  • Concave deck platforms
  • Traction plates
  • Kick nose
  • Kick tail
  • Rubber-padded handle
  • Torsion bar
  • 76-millimeter polyurethane wheels
  • High-performance ABEC-5 bearings
  • For ages 8 years and older
  • 220-pound rider weight capacity

5 out of 5 stars Turn some heads!   August 19, 2010

Caster Boards are one of the latest and greatest inventions on the market today.

I was first introduced to one thanks to my sister, who got the idea from one of her friends. She had bought a Wave Board, which is really just a fancy caster board copy of the RipStik. I tried hers out and knew i just had to buy one for myself.

I was originally planning on buying a Wave Board like hers, but then i decided to buy a RipStik just to be different. I'm glad i did! The RipStik is a much smoother ride, and turning is much easier. On her Wave Board, stability is a bit better, but its a lot harder to get it going. We race all the time, and i always win haha.

I like riding through my college campus, turning heads. Its classic to hear someone behind me say "How does he do that?" Even the skateboarders with their beat up old boards watch me go by in envy. You can do tricks on RipStiks too, but it's a bit harder than on a skateboard. If you just want something fun to ride though, definitely go with the RipStik.

Overall, the RipStik is by far the best caster board out there. You might be intrigued by all the fancy designs and color schemes that the wave board comes in, but as far as performance goes, you can't beat the RipStik!

5 out of 5 stars Very Good board   August 16, 2010
Seok W. Jeong (CA USA)
Actually, I bought it for my young son 9 years.
He never experience about skate boarding. But within 1 day, he can do good.
Now he bring the board any time when we go for walking.
He loves it so much.
Good shape, reasonable speed (I like it is little bit slower than other regular board to my hurried son. :)), weight also good to hold.
When he will grow up, maybe he will change to Air type. But now G type is good for my son.

5 out of 5 stars Great Price   July 9, 2010

I orderd this for my son. I was somewhat concerned about it getting to us in a reasonable amount of time after reading what people have said about ontrac shipping. It came a day late but I think that was because of the holiday. I called ontrac and they were very supportive about getting it to me. My son had a wave board before this. He left it in his freinds drive and his mom ran over it and broke it in half. This ripstick is a far better board than the wave. I highly recommend it. The price was alot cheaper than walmart. I noticed it is even cheaper now than it was a week ago. Amazon ROCKS!

5 out of 5 stars My daughter loves hers!   June 10, 2010

My daughter paid for this out of the money she had saved. She has learned to be very careful about what she spends her money on, but both of us think this has been well worth the price. She also shopped around a bit and figured out that buying it from Amazon was less expensive than it was on sale at the local discount chain. This is a wonderful product and a great place to get it!

5 out of 5 stars 8-year-old boy loves it   May 17, 2010
J. ZENG (Austin, TX, United States)
I bought this for my younger son as a B-day gift. He absolutely loves it. In fact, his elder brother follows him for a chance to play it (usually it is the other way around). The younger one is rough on any toy and the older one is over 5'10" and 165L. At first I was worried about the wheels based on some reviews. Now we have had it for over a month. The boys play it every single day. It shows some wear and tear on both edges and wheels, but nothing too bad. So in my opinion it is durable.
